Can A Relationship Be The Same After A Breakup

Today’s tip will be a bit more relationship-oriented.

I’m going to talk about rebuilding a relationship after a breakup.

A common question that I get every week is, “My girlfriend and I just got back together after a breakup. But will our relationship ever be the same again?”

As tempting as it is for me to say “yes” because I know that’s the answer you want to hear, I am going to have to say “no” for this one.

You CANNOT have the “same” relationship after a breakup. You’ll have to build a *new* one.

After a breakup, you have both seen each other’s “bad side”.

You have cried, you have been angry, and you have been hurt. After all the drama, you cannot expect your relationship to be as pure or innocent as it used to be before the breakup.

Don’t let that discourage you from rebuilding your relationship though. There’s a sunny side to every situation. Instead of thinking about the paradise that has been lost, think about how much your relationship has matured over time.

Repeat to yourself, “Even a breakup could not stop us from being together!.”

Having this attitude is *a lot* more useful than longing for past this is long gone.

As I always say, when it comes to relationships, always look at the present and the future, but not at the past!
